Take your students’ computer science journey further with deeper coding challenges, creative problem-solving, and exciting new adventures using Blue-Bot Curriculum Volume 3.
Blue-Bot Curriculum Volume 3: Advancing Coding and Computational Thinking
Take your students’ computer science journey to the next level with Blue-Bot Curriculum Volume 3, a collection of engaging, cross-curricular lessons designed to deepen programming skills through hands-on robotics challenges. Building on foundational coding concepts, Volume 3 guides students through more advanced computational thinking skills, including algorithms, decomposition, pattern recognition, and abstraction.
With approximately 24 hours of ready-to-use lessons, this curriculum helps educators bring coding to life through meaningful activities that connect robotics with math, ELA, and other classroom content areas. Students will plan, program, test, and refine solutions while strengthening critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Developed using the modified 5E Lesson Plan Model created through collaboration between ISTE and the City University of New York, each lesson is designed to minimize preparation time while providing structured opportunities for exploration, discussion, and assessment.
Blue-Bot makes programming concepts tangible by allowing students to experiment with movement, sequencing, and navigation through interactive challenges. Paired with the Blue-Bot robot, this curriculum provides an engaging way for learners to develop computational thinking skills while applying coding concepts to real-world scenarios.
Each lesson includes assessment opportunities aligned with computer science standards and core content skills, helping educators measure student growth as learners build confidence with programming concepts. Through collaborative activities and hands-on exploration, students develop communication skills, logical reasoning, and the ability to approach challenges as creative problem-solvers.
With Blue-Bot Curriculum Volume 3, students continue their coding adventure by transforming ideas into algorithms, exploring patterns, and discovering how computer science connects to the world around them.
