Big Fun for Young Minds — STEM GAME:IT Elementary
This course can be used in a variety of ways in your school (i.e., traditional computer programming class, as self-paced activities in the media center, coding club, STEM camps, summer school activity, community ed, extensions labs, gifted programs, etc).
STEM GAME:IT Elementary is a beginner-friendly, project-based curriculum designed to introduce students in grades 3–5 to the exciting world of coding and video game creation. Built around the drag-and-drop programming platform Scratch, this course helps students develop essential STEM skills like problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity—all while designing and playing their own games.
Through engaging, age-appropriate lessons, students learn to think like programmers, build interactive animations, and explore the foundational concepts behind game design. The curriculum is completely digital and requires no prior coding knowledge—making it easy for any teacher to get started, regardless of experience level.
Each unit includes hands-on projects, digital worksheets, and step-by-step guides aligned to CSTA and ISTE standards.
