KIBO: Hands-on, Screen-Free STEAM Robotics
KIBO is a thoughtfully designed robot kit that brings coding, creativity, and storytelling to life—without any screens. Research-based and designed for children in PreK to 5th grade, KIBO encourages exploration through building, sequencing, and self-expression.
Each kit includes a Roku‑style wooden robot platform outfitted with motors, wheels, and various sensors such as sound, light, and distance. Programming is done by stacking wooden blocks encoded with barcodes, which the robot reads and executes in sequence—no devices required.
Ideal for classrooms, makerspaces, and at-home learning, KIBO not only teaches programming fundamentals but also supports fine motor skills, spatial awareness, sequencing logic, and design thinking. Built upon over 20 years of early childhood research and used in schools worldwide, it has proven impact in helping young learners build confidence and STEAM skills.
