The Cubetto block extension sets allow your students to take Cubetto’s coding to a whole new level.  There are two block extension sets that offer additional sequencing and direction blocks.

Cubetto is a playful wooden robot ideal for introducing programming to young learners.  This wooden robot teaches kids the basics of programming through adventures and fun games using screen-free coding.  By taking coding off of the screen and into the real world, Cubetto creates a programming language kids can touch and interact with.  Kids help this friendly wooden robot find his way home using hands-on blocks to write their first programs.

How does Cubetto work?

A coding language you can touch and manipulate. Each block is an action. Combine them to create programs.

 Forward  Left  Right  Function   Backward  Negation  Random

The Cubetto blocks, when placed on the control board, trigger signals that are sent to the robot and tell it to execute certain actions based on the combinations of the blocks. Three of the four blocks represent simple commands — forward, turn left, and turn right — so children can easily understand the relationship between inputs and outputs.

The fourth block, the “command” block, acts as a shortcut representing the sequence of commands in the bottom, a boxed-off row of the control board, which is used for creating loops or subroutines in programming. Kids can simply place blocks into the slots on the board and push the button, prompting Cubetto to follow the commands in real time!

Logic Block Set

Take coding with your students’ coding to a whole new level with extra logic blocks that work with existing Cubetto blocks to offer students more tactile, block-based programming options.  This Cubetto block set presents even more sequencing fun with function, negation, and random programming blocks!  With three new tiles – function, random, and negation – students will have even more fun, coding possibilities!

Directional Block Set

This Cubetto block set introduces the backward block! Upgrade your Cubetto with extra directional blocks that will motor the friendly wooden robot through any adventure. Add to your existing Cubetto blocks to give students even more tactile, block-based programming options. Steer, swerve, and reverse through any early childhood STEAM curriculum, makerspace, afterschool program, or coding workshop with these blocks that offer a whole host of new programming combinations.

The package contains 16 blocks:

• 4x backward blocks
• 4x left blocks
• 4x right blocks
• 4x forward blocks
